Small Dream Ada

Bringing together indie rock, orchestral color, and modern jazz touches, Small Dream is led by vocalist/poet Alaina Ferris and composer Tyler Gilmore.  Small Dream Ada’s four song EP is a darkly hued journey through the subconscious. Akin to artists such as St. Vincent, Hanne Hukkleberg, and Fiona Apple, Small Dream Ada’s Golden Propeller features innovative song forms, and an expanded palette of brass quintet, electronics, and a rock trio.

“[Tyler Gilmore]  is lending his innovative composing and arranging skills to indie chamber group Small Dream Ada, which is highlighted by Alaina Ferris‘s stunning vocals. [...] At times ethereal and dreamy, Golden Propeller is a gorgeous collaboration.”

Shadow Pilot was formed in Las Vegas, Nevada (2005) by siblings Alaina Ferris and Joe Ferris. Shadow Pilot’s music is electronic soundscapes set to the sultry singing of Alaina Ferris – Billie Holiday meets Massive Attack. Shadow Pilot pulls influence from artists such as Portishead, Amon Tobin, and Anita O’Day.

Shortly after their inception, Shadow Pilot received international exposure with the remix of their single, “Long Days,” by hip-hop artists Somobe (The Great Communication, 2005). Says Shadow Pilot’s Joe Ferris, “The success of Somobe’s remix inspired us to take our time finishing the project so we could hire world-class audio engineers.”

Shadow Pilot’s EP, 2AM, was mixed and co-produced by Danny Saber, known for his work with artist Esthero (Song for Holly, featured in the movie, “Go”) and David Bowie (“Little Wonder, Dance Remix” featured in the movie Hackers). 2AM was mastered by Dave Collins of Dave Collins Mastering (Linkin Park, Weezer).
