Although Tone Academy only opened its doors last September, its an exploding community of musicians and students. In the short amount of time I spent at Tone Academy, it became very clear that the school is supportive, engaging, and is passionate in its vision. The level of love and respect shared between students and teachers (even in the infant classes!) was wonderful to see. Come! Take lessons with us!

The school, founded and directed by Jenny Pham, is structured around the Suzuki Method of teaching – with the goal of teaching music as a “Mother-Tongue.”
“Instructors at Tone are specially trained and certified through the Suzuki Association in ages 1 month – 4 years. We are currently the only school in New York offering Suzuki Preperatory Classes for infants and toddlers! Classes are designed for mixed ages so there is always something challenging for students, no matter what the age.
Each of the instructors at Tone are also professional musicians who perform prolifically throughout the world. This unique duality of our teachers sets them a part from other schools and allows us to offer challenging and tailored instruction to High School, College, and Adult students.” – via Tone Academy of Music
Pictures from ‘The Kioskers,’ by Jenna Salvagin
Had a wonderful time performing in Scott Adkin’s play last Thursday at Rabbit Hole in Dumbo. Paul played guitar, acted as Frederique – the French dirigible pilot, a woodland fairie, and also Jane. I played Frederique’s wife, Pamela, and also Sabrina. Sara Walsh operated her amazing hand crafted box city and shadow puppets while narrating. All while Scott performed as Matteo, sang, and played Tambourine.
Below are some pictures taken by Brooklyn photographer, Jenna Salvagin.

Student Recital at Rockwood Music Hall, May 27th
I’m excited to announce that my studio’s Summer 2012 Music Recital will be at Rockwood Music Hall in Manhattan! The event will be private (only currently enrolled students, family, and friends).
Rockwood Music Hall
May 27th, 2012
3:00-5:00pm
Private Event
Rockwood Music Hall, located at 196 Allen St. in Manhattan, is an internationally recognized venue for songwriters and composers. They’re kindly allowing us private use of the space for our studio recital.
Students will be playing on the same stage as regular touring artists. This event will be a fun, relaxed opportunity for students to perform in a professional setting. This is also the time of year where my students get to meet and support each other.
Student recitals are my favorite part of the year, I’m proud to see my students on stage. I hope to see you all there!
